Pashinyan's opponents block streets in Yerevan

The activists demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, have blocked several streets in Yerevan, the Armenian capital. Law enforcers have detained at least three persons.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 4, oppositionists blocked several bridges in Yerevan; 40 activists were detained. Amid protest actions, oppositional MPs have voiced in parliament a demand for Nikol Pashinyan's resignation.

Disobedience actions were launched in Armenia on April 25, and on May 1, the opposition announced the start of an active phase of protests after their supporters four regions of the country came to Yerevan. Activists demand to prevent the revision of Nagorno-Karabakh's status and dismiss Pashinyan.

Today, supporters of the opposition have again blocked several streets in Yerevan and are calling on citizens to join their struggle. The police detained several protesters, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The Armenian protest movement has some potential; however, in the opinion of Armen Badalyan, a political strategist, and Andrias Gukasyan, a political analyst, the organizers of the protests are not yet using the potentials correctly.
