Chechen emigrants in Turkey claim threat of their relatives' kidnappings

After the video showing the beating of Beslan Edilov, a former police boss of the village of Gikalo, Chechen political emigrants in Turkey expect a new wave of kidnappings of their relatives.

In the video posted in the "Security Turkey" Telegram channel, Edilov denies his involvement in gross human rights violations in Chechnya, says that he had come to Turkey with his wife and children and asks not to beat him up. Opponents demand from him to leave Turkey.

In his turn, Chingiz Akhmadov, the head of the "Grozny" TV Channel, has posted a video in his Telegram channel with insults against members of the Chechen Diaspora in Turkey.

In Akhmadov's appeal to those involved in beating Edilov up, there is no declaration of blood feud or other illegal threats. The change in rhetoric can be explained by the public outcry due to the threats made by the MP, Adam Delimkhanov, against the family of Saidi Yangulbaev, a former judge of the Chechen Supreme Court (SC).

Now, the attention of Chechen authorities and Russian special services is focused on Ukraine; therefore, the incident in Turkey will fade into the background, Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations, is sure.
