Relatives of Ingushetia native who perished in Ukraine wait for compensation

The family of Captain Salam Merzhoev, who perished in Ukraine, has submitted documents to receive the payments promised by the president; but no money has arrived yet, Salam's brother has stated. Salam Merzhoev has left his wife and two children behind.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 14, the Mayoralty of the city of Malgobek informed that Captain Salam Merzhoev had perished in Ukraine. He became the ninth native of Ingushetia, whose death during the special operation was officially confirmed.

Captain Salam Merzhoev was buried on May 16, Eraki Gantemirov, an assistant to the head of the Malgobek administration, has informed. There were no problems with the delivery of the body, it was organized "at the highest level," the official has added.

Earlier, Russian President, Vladimir Putin, said that the families of those who perished in the hostilities would receive support.

Yakhya Merzhoev, Salam's brother, said that Salam perished on May 10, in the course of the special operation. The family has already sent all the documents for receiving the promised payments, but so far there is no money.

The death of Salam Merzhoev has sparked a great public outcry in the republic, Yakhya has added.
