Activist Djansukh Adleiba stops his hunger strike in Sukhumi

Activist Djansukh Adleiba stopped his hunger strike on a square in Sukhumi 17 days after the presidential administration had promised to reduce fuel prices in Abkhazia within two weeks.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on June 13, Djansukh Adleiba went on a hunger strike, demanding from the government to lower prices for motor fuel. The protestor organized a collection of signatures in support of his demands.

Djansukh Adleiba asked residents of Abkhazia who gathered in the square if he was to stop his hunger strike. The people answered that the hunger strike should be stopped, but the demands to reduce fuel prices for cars should remain in force, the “Respublika” Telegram channel reports.

Let us remind you that on June 28, President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya met Djansukh Adleiba and expressed concern about the protestor’s health. The leader of state called on the activist to stop the hunger strike and emphasized that he was ready for a dialogue on the problem of growing fuel prices.
