Head of Dagestan promises to help relatives of perished militaries to commit Hajj
The head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, has promised to help in organizing Hajj at the expense of Suleiman Kerimov to relatives of those who perished during the special military operation.
Russian Senator, Suleiman Kerimov, is financing the pilgrimage. The Dagestani Muftiate is in charge of sending pilgrims; competent specialists and scientists are involved. Volunteers are accompanying pilgrims during the Hajj, the "Dagestan" TV Company has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Dagestan was allocated 4550 places within the Russian Hajj quota; they were already bought out by May 25. This year, Saudi Arabia has halved the Hajj quota for Russian Muslims; in total, 11,318 of them will commit the pilgrimage.
In 2021, Saudi Arabia restricted the number of pilgrims from other countries due to the coronavirus pandemic.
