According to the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Russian Federation, during the latest six months of 2007, a total of 37 militaries have been lost in Chechnya, seven of them - this June. Thus, MoD's monthly losses this year have made a little more than six persons on the average.
This figure is a little higher than the one of 2006. Last year the losses of Armed Forces made five persons per month on the average, and during the whole last year 57 persons were lost in Chechnya. Besides, losses of the employees of a number of other agencies - Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Federal Security Bureau (FSB) and Ministry for Emergencies (ME) - should be added to the figures announced by the Ministry of Defence.
