South Osetia accuses Georgian MIA of killing an Osetin
The South Osetia authorities accuse Georgian MIA officers of killing Felix Ghaghiyev, resident of South Osetia, who died in hospital after beating.
"At the hospital where Ghaghiyev was brought after beating he was operated on but the damage proved to be so serious that he could not be saved," runs the statement placed at the official site of the unrecognized republic's government.
The NEWSru.com reports that the day before the South Osetia authorities stated that Georgian MIA officers beat Ghaghiyev, resident of Dzaghin, an Osetin village, who was passing across the village of Avnevi mostly populated by Georgians.
With a reference to the victim's mother, the statement points out that Ghaghiyev headed for his village from Tskhinvali via Avnevi "where he was beaten by Georgian MIA officers. ...His head and virtually all critical internal organs were seriously damaged."
