Court rejects Aslamazyan's complaint against inspection of "Educated Media"
The Tverskoj Court of Moscow has recognized lawful the pre-investigatory inspection undertaken in relation to the management of the Foundation "Educated Media" (assignee of the "Internews") on suspicion of illegal entrepreneurship and money laundering (thus rejecting the complaint of the defence of Manana Aslamazyan, Manager of the Foundation, demanding to recognize the inspection illegal), the RIA "Novosti" reports.
We remind you that on April 18 documents and computers were confiscated from the office of the Foundation "Educated Media" under the criminal case against Manana Aslamazyan, accused of money contraband.
On June 21, the Golovinskiy District Court of Moscow has recognized the confiscation to be legal. On May 29, the banking accounts of the Foundation were frozen.
The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that on June 15 a charge of contraband was presented to Manana Aslamazyan under Part 1, Article 188, of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to advocate Parshutkin, the charge was presented to his client in absentia, without notifying Ms Aslamazyan and her defenders, which is illegal, as he asserts.
Russian journalists have addressed their open letter, already signed by more than 2000 persons, to Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling him to interfere into the "case" of Manana Aslamazyan. They are interpreting the actions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as another step towards impairment of civil rights in Russia.
