Krasnodar blogger Alibekov detained for calls for extremism

In Novorossiysk, law enforcers have detained Askhabali Alibekov, a blogger, also known as "Wild Paratrooper", on suspicion of public calls for extremism. This was reported by the human rights project "OVD-Info"** with reference to his friend.

A criminal case was opened against the blogger under the article on public calls to extremism; the maximum punishment for it is five years in prison.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in May this year, Alibekov was found guilty of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces. Another protocol under the article on discrediting Russian militaries against Alibekov was submitted to the court on June 8 after the blogger posted a video with a pacifist appeal on the Internet.

On May 13, the court arrested Askhabali Alibekov, the author of the YouTube* blog "Wild Paratrooper", a native of Dagestan, within the case of violating the deadline for appearing in the penitentiary inspection for registering. On May 31, his wife said that he was arrested for violating the order at the SIZO (the pre-trial prison).
