Three women trained as suicide-bombers made use of the amnesty in Chechnya

Oleg Zhidkov, deputy head of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), informed on August 3 that among the persons who used the amnesty announced by the State Duma for militants in Chechnya there were relatives of militants' leaders and three women trained to be suicide-bombers.

According to his story, four of the persons were in federal search, about 200 were involved in sabotage and terrorist actions, almost all of them were members of various illegal military groupings, "the youngest among those who have surrendered is 16, the oldest - 75." Among those who came to surrender, there were the so-called "emirs" and relatives of Salman Raduev, Abdul-Khalim Saidulaev, Doku Umarov, and also one of the leaders of the Chechen Diaspora in Oslo Turpal-Ali Kaimov, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported earlier that President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov had promised that till the end of the year not a single militant would remain in the territory of the Republic.

According to Nikolai Patrushev, Chairman of the National Antiterrorist Committee and FSB Director, as a result of the 2006 amnesty in Northern Caucasus a total of 546 militants have surrendered. He has also stated that over 300 acts of terror were prevented in the region last year.

At the same time, Tatiana Lokshina, head of the "Demos" Centre, has stated in her interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that during the first four months of this year about three hundred young people joined militants in Chechnya.
