At least 100 detained at anti-mobilization protest action in Makhachkala

Rights defenders inform that about 100 people have been brought to Makhachkala police station after a protest action against mobilization.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 26, in Makhachkala, where protesters against mobilization gathered, there was a mass brawl, and law enforcers began detaining the people who came there. It also became known about the detention of Idris Yusupov, a journalist of the "Novoye Delo", and Sergey Ainbinder, the editor-in-chief of the "RusNews". Detainees' relatives and Makhachkala townspeople gathered near the building of the police station, where the participants of the action were taken. It is known about 27 detained minors.

On September 25, in Makhachkala, law enforcers violently dispersed the anti-mobilization action. According to human rights defenders, 101 people were detained.

Law enforcers detained the participants of the rally with extreme cruelty – by using stun guns and truncheons. "They took phones away from many of the detainees. Policemen also sprayed pepper gas directly into protesters' faces," the "Kavkaz.Realii"** project has informed. Two girls needed medical care; they were taken to hospital.
