Head of Ingush Accounts Chamber Mustafa Belkharoev detained after search in his house
The police searched the house of Mustafa Belkharoev, the head of the Accounts Chamber of Ingushetia, and took him away with them. This was reported by Amirkhan Belkharoev, a son of the official. An advocate could not get a permission to visit the detainee. Mikail Aliev, a relative of the Belkharoev family, a former member of the parliament of Ingushetia, was also detained after the search.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in 2021, Mustafa Belkharoev, the head of the Accounts Chamber of Ingushetia, complained that after the detention of his son Alikhan in the case on the murder of the chief of the Ingush Centre for Combating Extremism (also known as CCE or Centre “E”), the latter was subjected to severe torture. Alikhan Belkharoev himself also complained about torture. After that, the police conducted two searches within two months in the house of Mustafa Belkharoev, the head of the Accounts Chamber of Ingushetia. Advocate Timur Idalov called those searches the revenge on the Belkharoev father and son.
Ibragim Eldjarkiev, the chief of the Ingush CCE, and his brother Akhmed Eldjarkiev were shot dead in Moscow on November 2, 2019. According to the investigators’ version, entrepreneur Khasan Polonkoev led a grouping involved in the murder. The murder of Ibragim Eldjarkiev was recognized as a terror act. Alikhan Belkharoev was detained in connection with the case on the attack on Ibragim Eldjarkiev.
According to Amirkhan Belkharoev, during the search, a grandson of Mustafa Belkharoev, his wife and daughter-in-law with two small children were in the house. “The search was conducted in a very tough way and was accompanied by obscenities and threats,” Amirkhan Belkharoev said.
No advocate was allowed to visit Amirkhan Belkharoev, and his son Amirkhan Belkharoev fears that his father is being subjected to torture.
Advocate Roza Alieva, a sister of detained Mikail Aliev, claims that “a machine gun was planted” to her brother during the search.
