Journalist Gadjiev's colleagues satisfied with Makhachkala people's reaction to pickets
Drivers and passers-by have expressed their approval and support for Salim Khalitov and Idris Yusupov during their solo pickets demanding the release of Abdulmumin Gadjiev and other political prisoners.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 6, activist Salim Khalitov and journalist Idris Yusupov held solo pickets demanding to stop the criminal prosecution of Abdulmumin Gadjiev, a journalist of the "Chernovik" (Draft) outlet, and release political prisoners. Law enforcers did not interfere with the picketers.
Salim Khalitov is confident in Gadjiev's innocence, whom he has known since his school years. According to Salim, during his picket on February 6, many passers-by expressed their support with gestures of approval.
The reaction of passers-by and car drivers was at the same level as a week earlier, Idris Yusupov, a journalist, believes.
Car drivers and passers-by reacted actively to the picketers, Magomed Magomedov, a deputy editor-in-chief of the "Chernovik", has noted. "Passers-by came up and took pictures," he said.
Magomedov, together with Magdi Kamalov, the founder of the outlet, plans to appeal against law enforcers' actions, who earlier prevented their pickets and used to bring activists to the police station.
