Body of second alleged militant found in Ingushetia

The second of six residents of Ingushetia, whom the law enforcement bodies consider involved in an attack on a road-and-patrol police service (known as DPS) checkpoint, has been found dead today. Presumably, this is Movsar Kottoev, sources report.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 3, law enforcers discovered a grouping of alleged participants in the attack on a DPS checkpoint on a farm in Malgobek, but the suspects opened fire on the law enforcers, wounded one of them, and fled. On April 3, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was announced in the Malgobek District. On April 4, sources reported that law enforcers found cars carrying wanted residents of Ingushetia. Telegram channels reported that the suspects were hidden on a farm in Malgobek by an uncle of Movsar Kottoev. The father of Movsar Kottoev disowned him in a video message.

After the attack on the DPS checkpoint on the border between North Ossetia and Ingushetia, the law enforcement bodies reported that six residents of Ingushetia, including Mikail Moshkhoev, Ramazan Eldiev, Amir Bokov, Amirkhan Gurazhev, Adam Ozdoev, and Movsar Kottoev, were wanted on suspicion of plotting terror act. Ramazan Eldiev was found dead on March 29.

The body of the second of the wanted residents of Ingushetia was found in an abandoned house in the village of Akki-Yurt. “According to the preliminary information, a self-explosion occurred. Perhaps, a grenade exploded,” the newspaper “Ingushetia” reported with reference to a source.

The law enforcement bodies suggest that the dead man can be identified as Movsar Kottoev and that other suspects put on the wanted list may be located near the place where Movsar Kottoev’s body was found.
