Zarema Musaeva refuses to testify against her son
Investigators have tried to interrogate Zarema Musaeva, who is being kept in a SIZO (pre-trial prison) in Grozny, in a case against her son Baisangur Yangulbaev, but the woman refused to testify, Abubakar Yangulbaev reports. According to him, family members are not aware about the formal reasons for putting his brother on the wanted list.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Ibragim Yangulbaev, one of the Zarema Musaeva’s sons, was put on the wanted list in a case on justification of terrorism, and the “Rosfinmonitoring” (the Russian Federal Agency for Financial Monitoring) included him into the register of extremists and terrorists. In November 2022, Baisangur Yangulbaev was also included in the list of extremists and terrorists. On May 9, it became known that he was put on the federal wanted list. Ibragim and Baisangur Yangulbaev now live in Europe.
Brothers’ mother Zarema Musaeva, whose case has been considered by the court since June 2022, is accused of assaulting a law enforcer and fraud. The court extended her arrest until August 12.
A person accused of terrorism must be included in the list of the “Rosfinmonitoring” after the entry into force of a court’s verdict, but in reality, a person may be included in the list at any time, advocate Abusupyan Gaitaev explains. According to him, the persons accused of extremism are less likely to be included in the list run by the “Rosfinmonitoring”.
