“Alternativa” announces release of man from labour slavery in Dagestan

Sergey Busygin was forced to work for free at a brick factory near Kaspiysk for several years, the “Alternativa” movement against slavery reports.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that the “Alternativa” movement has repeatedly reported about cases of liberation of people from labour slavery in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) and the Southern Federal District (SFD). So, in May 2022, the “Alternativa” movement announced the rescue from labour slavery of a resident of Budyonnovsk, who was forcibly kept on a farm in the Stavropol Territory.

“Recruiters” are looking for potential employees at railway stations in Moscow and other cities, and most often the victims are people from the provinces who come to large cities to earn money.

“Unfortunately, the man’s story is a typical case of falling into labour slavery. In 2016, he was recruited in Moscow. Sergey was offered a job, promised good conditions, to which he agreed. As a result, Sergey ended up at a brick factory near Kaspiysk in Dagestan,” reports the “Alternativa” movement on its Telegram channel.

Sergey Busygin worked at the brick factory for several years. “According to him, his employers took his passport away from him, paid no salary, but instead was forcing him to work off his debt. They periodically beat him, and in order to suppress any thoughts of escaping, they threatened him with their alleged connections in law enforcement bodies. The conditions of living and working were so terrible there that Sergey got frostbite on his legs. After that, he ended up in a hospital, where he got his toes amputated,” reported the activists.

The situation of Sergey Busygin was reported by a volunteer who learned about his stay in the hospital. “At present, Sergey is completely safe, and everything is fine with him,” reports the “Alternativa” movement.

Let us remind you that labour slavery is a problem that is typical for all of Russia, including in the southern regions of the country, as Oleg Melnikov, the leader of the “Alternativa” movement, reported in May 2019.
