Volgograd resident sentenced to 8.5 years of imprisonment for setting fire to “Z” banner
A court sentenced Igor Paskar, a resident of Volgograd, to 8.5 years of imprisonment for setting fire to a rug at the entrance to the FSB building in Krasnodar and a banner with a “Z” sign.
Igor Paskar has said he set the fire “at the behest of conscience” and that he does not renounce his convictions. The man is accused of a terror act and vandalism motivated by political hatred.
“According to the decision of the Southern District Military Court, Igor Paskar is to spend the first three years in prison, and the rest in a high-security penal colony,” the “Solidarity Zone” human rights project reports on its Telegram channel.
Let us remind you that Igor Paskar was detained in Krasnodar in the summer of 2022. According to the investigators’ version, the man threw a Molotov cocktail to the building of the FSB Department for the Krasnodar Territory, as a result of which a rug at the entrance caught fire, and also set fire to a banner with the letter “Z” and the inscription: “We do not leave our people in trouble”.
On January 9, Igor Paskar stated that law enforcers tortured him after his detention, including using electric current.
