KBR native accused of treason

The case of Vladislav Poruchikov, a native of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), accused of attempted treason and links with a terrorist organization located in the territory of Ukraine, has arrived at a Moscow court.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 11, it became known that in the Rostov Region, law enforcers had detained a Moscow university student, a native of Makeyevka, who, according to their data, was collecting information for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to investigators, in February 2023, the young man decided to join a terrorist organization operating in Ukraine and contacted the members thereof, after which he tried to get to Ukraine, the "Kommersant" writes.

The defendant has pleaded guilty to attempted treason, but denied the charge of having links with terrorists, explaining that he was unaware that the organization he had wanted to join was banned in Russia.

  • Pre-planned nature is distinctive feature of attack on journalist Khoroshilov

The actions of the man who attacked Igor Khoroshilov, a Rostov journalist, were prepared in advance, which excludes any spontaneous conflict. At the same time, the absence of direct proofs of links of the attack with Igor’s professional activities will allow law enforcers to treat the incident as a domestic conflict, lawyers have pointed out.
