"Beslan Mothers" remind President of absence of inquiry outcomes into terror act
The militants who committed the terror act in Beslan received support from abroad, the Russian President said at a meeting with "Beslan Mothers". Twenty years after the terror act, its investigation has not been completed, the victims' mothers have reminded.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Russian President has visited the building of School No. 1 in Beslan for the first time since the terror act committed in 2004. He has also visited the memorial to the victims.
The Beslan tragedy will remain an unhealed wound in Russia's historical memory, President Putin has emphasized and expressed condolences to victims' mothers. He promised that the state would continue supporting the victims.
At the meeting, "Beslan Mothers" expressed their outrage by the fact that in 20 years the inquiry into the Beslan terror act has not been completed.
"They said that we believe that there was no inquiry as such. And that we met him in 2005, and he promised us that he would take control, but this did not happen. And that it was precisely because of this that we failed to achieve any truth and went to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in Strasbourg, which made a decision on this case," the Agency* has quoted Aneta Gadieva, a co-chair of the "Beslan Mothers", as saying.
According to her story, Putin said that he did not know about the protracted investigation.
The "Beslan Mothers" have also suggested that Putin adopt a law on the status of victims of terror acts, so that they could solve their social problems and be protected, Ms Gadieva has added.
