Blogger from Bashkortostan accused of desecrating the monument "The Motherland Calls!"

The Prosecutor's Office has approved the charge of Nazism rehabilitation against Rasul Akhiyaretdinov, a blogger from Bashkortostan, who had recorded a video demanding that the sculpture "The Motherland Calls!" in Volgograd be "dressed more modestly!"; his criminal case was sent to court.

According to investigators, the blogger's opinions were expressed "in a cynical manner that disregarded the moral standards, the "OVD-Info"* project has reported.

In particular, in his video, Akhiyaretdinov addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to dress the monument "more modestly." He stated that the monument appearance did not suit the Muslim and Orthodox clergy of Volgograd. After the blogger's video post on the Internet, he began receiving threats from social media users, which is why he deleted his pages.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on February 9, 2024, investigators detained a 23-year-old woman from Samara, who was put on the wanted list after posting a video in social media in which she "touches" the breast of the sculpture "The Motherland Calls!" erected on Mamayev Kurgan. Investigators posted a video, in which she is handcuffed and publicly apologizes to the camera to all residents of Russia.
