Relatives of disabled man from Ingushetia demand to return him from SMO zone

Ruslan Derbichev, a native of Ingushetia, was persuaded to sign a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defence and sent to the special military operation zone in Ukraine, despite his disability and mental illness. Medical officers recommended that he should be returned home, relatives of Ruslan Derbichev claim.

Blogger Ivan Shukshin says that he was contacted by Zelimkhan Medov, a brother of Ruslan Derbichev. According to the Zelimkhan Medov’s version, his brother was persuaded to sign a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) and sent to the special military operation (SMO) zone, although he was diagnosed as an II Group Invalid person and was not fit for military service.

Ruslan Derbichev was persuaded to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defence in August, and his relatives did not know about that. Later, they were sent a video in which Ruslan Derbichev was shown chained to a tree: he was suspected of using drugs. However, a medical examination conducted at a hospital did not find any traces of drugs in the Ruslan Derbichev’s blood.

On September 14, relatives of Krasnodar resident Alexei Abramov said that in the special military operation zone in Ukraine he was included in an assault squad, although he was not able to move without using crutches. On the front line, his legs swelled up badly and his health state worsened, noted Ksenia Abramova, a wife of Alexei Abramov. The woman added that her appeals to various authorities with requests to discharge her husband from the army did not yield any results.
