Case of discrediting Russian Army by resident of Astrakhan Region due to criticism of Putin reaches court

The criminal case initiated against Vitaly Zhuravlyov for his comment about the special military operation (SMO) placed in a social network has been submitted to the court of the city of Akhtubinsk, Astrakhan Region.

In December 2023, it became known that the court in the Akhtubinsk District fined Zhuravlyov under an administrative article on discrediting the Russian Army. The reason for the fine of 30,000 roubles was in his placing in the "VKontakte" social network of a photo of President Putin with a comment containing criticism of the Russians.

This June, Zhuravlyov became a figurant of a criminal case on discrediting Russian militaries. The reason was in his comment placed in a social network criticizing the SMO conducted in Ukraine.

Now, Zhuravlyov is accused of repeatedly discrediting the Russian Army for his comment criticizing the SMO in Ukraine, the Telegram channel "OVD-info Live"* has informed.
