Malgobek resident detained for kidnapping in 1999
The police detained a 47-year-old resident of Malgobek accused of kidnapping a resident of the Kirov Region in 1999 for ransom.
According to the investigators’ version, on May 23, 1999, the resident of Malgobek, now 47, was a member of an armed grouping and kidnapped a resident of a city in the Kirov Region at a market in order to receive a ransom for him. Some of the attackers were detained by the police, while others escaped.
In June 1999, the resident of Magobek was arrested in absentia and put on the wanted list. On November 21 of this year, he was detained in one of the republics in Southern Russian. The detainee is accused of illegal arms trafficking, banditry, and kidnapping, the Investigating Department for Ingushetia of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports on its Telegram channel.
The “Caucasian Knot” has also reported that in 2022, the court sentenced four residents of Ingushetia, including Aslan Bekov and Ruslan Tsitskiev, to long terms of imprisonment, finding them guilty of plotting a terror act during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. On November 21 of this year, it became known that the Supreme Court (SC) of Russia refused to cancel the sentence of Aslan Bekov and Ruslan Tsitskiev.
