Flight restrictions imposed at seven airports in southern Russia

The arrival and departure of aircraft have been suspended at the airports of Vladikavkaz, Grozny, Magas, Mineralnye Vody, Nalchik, Stavropol and Sochi. The restrictions were introduced amid the threat of drone attacks in the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District.

Temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft have been introduced at the airports of Vladikavkaz, Grozny, Magas, Mineralnye Vody, Nalchik, Stavropol, Sochi, and Tambov, said Artem Korenyako, a representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency.

"The restrictions are necessary to ensure flight safety," he wrote at 04:28 Moscow time in his Telegram channel "Representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency".

Recall that on July 23, two women and a man were taken to the hospital in Novocherkassk, injured as a result of a drone attack. Shakhty, Myasnikovsky, Rodionovo-Nesvetaysky and Aksaysky districts were also attacked, and fires and damage to houses were recorded in several populated areas.

On the night of July 21, as a result of a drone attack, the building of the Kamenolomny railway station in the Rostov region caught fire. The incident led to a disruption in the passenger train schedule.

On July 19, train traffic was stopped on the Likhaya – Zamchalovo section in the Rostov Region after a drone attack. It was resumed the same day, but the incident led to delays in the movement of trains. In addition, as a result of the attack, a railway employee on duty at the Likhaya station was injured.
