Fire at oil depot in Sochi occurred after drone attack

As a result of a drone attack, a fire started at an oil depot in the Adler district. Also in Sochi, private garages and a store building were damaged.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, today at about 02:30 Moscow time, the operation of the Sochi airport was suspended to ensure flight safety.

Last night, Sochi was attacked by a drone from Ukraine, the governor of Kuban Veniamin Kondratyev reported on his Telegram channel.

"In the Adler district, fragments of a drone hit a tank with oil products, causing a fire. To eliminate the consequences of the fire have already begun," he wrote at 04.26 Moscow time.

According to updated information, one tank with 2,000 cubic meters of oil products is burning at an oil depot in the Adler district, the regional operational headquarters reported 20 minutes later on its Telegram channel.

Five garages were damaged

"Also, UAV debris fell in a garage cooperative on Aviatsionnaya Street. Five garages were damaged. The fire was extinguished there before the firefighters arrived. On the same street, emergency services are putting out a store fire. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties," the publication says.

Restrictions on the receipt and departure of aircraft at the Sochi airport have been lifted, Rosaviatsia press secretary Artem Korenyako announced at 04.59 Moscow time. "During the period of restrictions, seven aircraft operating flights to Sochi "left" for alternate airfields," he wrote in his Telegram channel "Representative of Rosaviatsiya".
