19 Azerbaijani families returned to village in Khojaly district

19 families of former internally displaced persons returned to the village of Khanyurdu, they received keys to their apartments.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, in July the Azerbaijani authorities announced the return to the villages of Khanyurdu and Tezebina in the Khojaly region of a group of 247 former internally displaced persons who left there during the Karabakh conflict.

On August 11, 19 families returned to the village of Khanyurdu (Khan'yurdu) in the Khojaly region former internally displaced persons, a total of 62 people. They were handed the keys to their apartments, Oxu.az reports.

A total of more than 50 thousand people currently live in Karabakh, including former internally displaced persons, as well as those working on the implementation of various projects in the region, Trend writes.

Recall that on November 10, 2023, the Azerbaijani authorities announced that they plan to resettle 140 thousand people to the territories of Karabakh that have come under the control of Baku by 2026.

Azerbaijani internally displaced persons complained about the difficulties of returning to Karabakh. In particular, they noted that there are not enough jobs in Fizuli. People are looking for opportunities to return to their native places, but in the territories that came under the control of Azerbaijan, property issues have not yet been resolved, the displaced persons noted.
