No charges presented so far to suspects of an attempt on Chechen President
The natives of Chechnya, who were arrested in May 2007 in Moscow and who have, in the opinion of the investigation, relation to the car stuffed with explosive left near the "Profsoyuznaya" Metro Station, and accused of preparing an attempt on Ramzan Kadyrov, are still kept in custody without presentation of charges.
Murad Musaev, advocate of Umar Batukaev, one of the suspects, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the case was not delivered to the court. For several months already, the investigation is extending the custody of the suspects by two months each time. "It happened for at least four times already," Mr Musaev said. "No investigatory actions were made during this time, they are just kept there and wait for either be released, or for the case to be sent to the court."
According to Musaev, the case is about grave and especially grave crimes. "Most likely, they will be accused of an attempt. Certainly, it's absolute horseshit, and my client was in a deep cultural shock when he learnt what the suspicions against him were."
