In Armenia, 68 persons fined for participation in rallies

After cancelling of the state of emergency in Armenia, 68 persons have been brought to administrative responsibility in the form of fines for participation in non-authorized rallies, marches and protest actions. The police of Armenia has informed about it.

During the same period, 21 persons were detained for breaking public order, five of them were arrested, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.

On March 27, the criminal-enforcement establishment "Nubarashen", where 28 persons, arrested during mass disorders, are kept, was visited by the Working Group created under the Office of Armenian Ombudsman.

On Thursday, the "News-Armenia" Agency was informed at the department for information and public relations of the Ombudsman's Office that in the course of the meeting some of the detainees have again expressed their disagreement with the charges presented, finding them groundless and politically motivated.

"The overwhelming majority of the detainees have expressed no discontent with the administration of criminal-enforcement establishment," an employee of the press service said.

However, during their conversations with the members of the Ombudsman's Working Group 12 inmates stated that they were beaten at detention and in police stations.

In total, the members of the Ombudsman's Office have visited 90 arrested citizens.

At the same time, today in the morning, all the 46 citizens, detained on March 26 in the Severny Avenue of Yerevan, were released after being interviewed, the IA Regnum informs.

The police assert that none of the detainees was brought to administrative responsibility.
