Ingushetia: two out of eight detained for participation in rally released

On March 26, 2008, inspector of the Chief Investigatory Department (CID) of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation for the South Federal District (SFD) released from custody under recognizance not to leave two residents of Ingushetia - Batyr Moshkhoev and Ahmed Izmailov, accused of organizing and participating in mass disorders in Nazran on January 26, 2008. This is reported by the Human Rights Centre "Memorial".

After release of Moshkhoev and Izmailov, six persons still remain behind bars: Gazdiev, Salman Magomedovich; Barakhoev, Israil Ibragimovich; Kulov, Ramazan Magomedovich; Khazbiev, Ruslan Mussaevich; Aushev, Maksharip Magomedovich; and Evloev, Magomed Elmurzaevich. The custody term for Gazdiev, Barakhoev, Kulov and Khazbiev was extended by the Nazran District Court till May 26, 2008.
