Round-table discussion on role of mass media in pre-election campaign was held in Hyatt Regency Hotel
A round-table meeting on the role of mass media in a pre-election campaign took place in the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Tuesday. It was organized by the German Friedrich-Naumann-Foundation.
Leaders and journalists of several mass media organizations of Azerbaijan (Turan, Echo, Zerkalo, Azadlyg and others), the Foundation's officials, representatives of non-government organizations and German experts of the most authoritative German mass media, who had been specially invited by the Naumann-Foundation, took part in the action.
As one of the Foundation's officials noted, the round-table meeting was aimed at the exchange of experience and opinions between Azerbaijan and German journalists on the questions of the coverage of pre-election campaigns and the role of mass media in politics and elections. However, the discussion actually turned to the problems of democracy in Azerbaijan.
