"New Right-Wingers" Party demands Saakashvili's resignation

David Gamkrelidze, leader of the oppositional Georgian Party named "New Right-Wingers", has stated that President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili should resign and appoint early presidential and parliamentary elections.

"Under the present authorities, and in case Mikhail Saakashvili remains President and Commander-in-Chief, we can face still more problems and catastrophes. This situation might be not the last one, and I tell it with full responsibility," Mr Gamkrelidze said today.

According to the oppositionist, citizens of Georgia should decide "what their priority is - their country or Mikhail Saakashvili."

According to the estimates of the "New Right-Wingers", the country was involved in an adventure, as a result of which "one third of the country was occupied by Russia," and "the prospect of accession to NATO in the near future was lost."

"It was a trap specially arranged for Georgia, and about the trap the authorities (of Georgia) had been warned by the USA, Europe and political organizations," the "New Right-Wingers" assert; they accuse Saakashvili of his individually adopted "irresponsible and criminal decision to bombard and attack Tskhinvali, which brought catastrophic results."
