Hariri: Lebanon to set up contacts with Abkhazia and South Ossetia
Lebanon plans to set up contacts with Abkhazia and South Ossetia, although recognition of these republics by the country is not yet clear, Saad Hariri, majority leader in Lebanese parliament, has stated.
"The recognition issue will be decided at the top state level. But we'll fix contacts with South Ossetia and Abkhazia right now, for instance, a delegations of our businessmen will go there soon," said Mr Hariri.
He has noted that "the Lebanese know from their own past, what situation South Ossetia was in." "In fact, Lebanon is also a small state, and it's also under threat. On the one side, we have Israel, who attacked us more than once. On the other side, we have Syria, which also threatens Lebanon from time to time," said the Lebanese politician in his interview to the "Time of News" newspaper.
