Khazbiev: people of Ingushetia thank President Medvedev for dismissing Zyazikov

Magomed Khazbiev, head of the Ingush Nationwide Rally Organizing Committee, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that people of Ingushetia are triumphant and thank Russian President Dmitri Medvedev for dismissing Murat Zyazikov.

According to Mr Khazbiev, cars have stopped in the street and are beeping. "People are dancing Lezgin dance in the street - this is what happens," he said.

In Khazbiev's opinion, after Zyazikov people are ready "to accept anyone", while Evkurov is known in the Republic as a good military. "General Evkurov is good at least because he's Hero of Russia already, and there's no need for him to shut eyes on kidnappings and murders to win this title," Magomed Khazbiev has stated.

We remind you that today President of Russia Dmitri Medvedev has decreed to dismiss President of Ingushetia Murat Zyazikov.

Instead, Yunus-Bek Evkurov, Deputy Commander of the Volga-Urals Military District, was appointed acting head of the Republic.

The reason for Murat Zyazikov's dismissal was the instability in the Republic, as the AFP Agency reports.

However, the "Interfax" reports that Murat Zyazikov asserts that his resignation from the post of Ingush President was absolutely voluntary and is connected with his transfer to some other job in Moscow.
