Human rights activist: nobody addresses the problem of North-Ossetian forced migrants

Nazir Kotiev, Chairman of the human rights organization named "Union of Deportees from North Ossetia", asserts that nobody is now dealing with the real solution of the problems of forced migrants from the Prigorodny District and Vladikavkaz from North Ossetia.

"In Ingushetia, refugees live in terrible conditions. Most of them were accommodated in Compact Residence Centres (CRCs) or Temporary Accommodation Centres (TACs), in barracks and sort of trailers. Most often a family has one room. The TACs are systematically cut off electricity and gas, and water is brought to them. Many of the refugees have no income and jobs, they rely basically on pensions. The Migratory Service has no concern of their problems," Mr Kotiev gave his comments on refugees' situation to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, 28,000 forced migrants from the Prigorodny District and Vladikavkaz live now in the territory of Ingushetia, including those in TACs, CRCs and rented private houses. About 13,000 thousand Ingush nationals have returned to their former residences in the Prigorodny District and Vladikavkaz.
