Three hunger-strikers hospitalized in Rostov Region
Three miners-pensioners, who take part in the hunger strike held in the city of Zverevo, Rostov Region, have been hospitalized because of health deterioration.
Valery Dyakonov, Deputy of the City Duma, who joined the hunger strike on January 28, refused to go to hospital. He was diagnosed a hypertonic crisis and had to leave the flat where the hunger-strikers are holding their action because of a sharp health aggravation.
The deputy himself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that currently the hunger strike is continued by two persons; and today during a picket it will become known who will replace them.
According to Mr Dyakonov, today Rostov-on-Don will host the first sitting of the working group under the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov Region set up for consideration of the problems of Zverevo miners-pensioners. The group included representatives of local and regional authorities and deputies of the Regional Parliament. Earlier, the regional authorities declared their intention to include someone of the protesting miners into the working group. However, it was not done.
"None of the members of our initiative group was invited to join the commission," said Valery Dyakonov. "Its composition indicates that the authorities are still unwilling to listen to us. The working group was given time till March 1 to elaborate its decisions. However, already today it's more and more difficult to bar the protesting miners from radical steps."
