Ingush SC not to move Evloev's murder case trial to another region

The Supreme Court (SC) of Ingushetia has refused to consider the idea of delivering the criminal case on the death of Magomed Evloev, former owner of the oppositional website "Ingushetia.Ru", to some other region of Russia.

In the end of last year, the advocate of the defendant - head of the security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ingushetia Ibragim Evloev - lodged a petition to the Nazran District Court asking to move the consideration of the criminal case to another region. In November 2008, a similar idea was moved by the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.

The advocate referred to the fact that holding judicial sessions in Ingushetia can be unsafe for his client. The Nazran Court rejected the petition, and the advocate then appealed against the ruling to the Supreme Court of Ingushetia.

Today, the Ingush SC has sent the issue of transferring the criminal case back to the District Court for reconsideration, as Musa Pliev, representative of the Evloev family, told the "Interfax".
