Dagestan under counterterrorist operation again

Today, the second time within 24 hours, the counterterrorist operation regime was announced in the capital of Dagestan. It is already the fourth counterterrorist operation in the territory of Republic in February.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Department of the FSB (DFSB) for Dagestan that at about 4:30 p.m. the area adjoining the house No. 52-A in Engelsa Street in Makhachkala was blocked. The DFSB received information that members of illegal armed formations can hide in the house.

"I have my family at home, but they wouldn't even let me come close to my yard, all the streets are blocked by special fighters," Ali, one of the residents of the house, which happened to be within the cordoned area, complained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Only today at midday the counterterrorist operation regime that was introduced in Makhachkala this morning was cancelled. According to law enforcement bodies, as a result of the morning special operation three militants were detained, and one more was killed.
