President of Ingushetia proclaims financial amnesty for corrupted officials

President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov has announced financial amnesty for those corrupted officials who will voluntarily return all the stolen assets back to the state. According to Mr Evkurov, all the remaining bureaucrats and their helpers criminated of corruption will be punished most severely.

Earlier, the President of Ingushetia has stated that he plans to check, "how much money his Republic really possesses, what has been built and what sums were really consumed." "Seven criminal cases were already opened against officials accused of plunders, three more are on the way," Yunus-Bek Evkurov said to the newspaper "Northern Caucasus".

"So far, by our preliminary estimate, we've found a little more than 2 billion roubles stolen from the budget by officials of the national district levels," said President of Ingushetia.

Mr Evkurov has expressed hope that the people of Ingushetia will support him in his war on corruption.
