Refugees from Abkhazia hold congress in the capital of Georgia

Today in Georgia, under the initiative of the political association "Our Abkhazia" and a group of refugees from Abkhazia, a congress of refugees took place. It was attended by about 1500 refugees who left Abkhazia in early 1990s and now live in different areas of Georgia.

The congress has dealt with refugees' social problems. The delegates have stated that the authorities pay little attention to their problems and ignore refugees. They threatened with protest actions in case the authorities would not change their attitude to refugees' problems, as the "Interfax" Agency reports.

After mass exile of Georgians from Abkhazia, the refugees' congress is held for the second time already, as the Internet edition "Our Abkhazia" reports. The first congress took place in 1999.
