ICPO announces arrest of suspects of murdering Ruslan Yamadaev

The Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation has reported about detention of suspects of committing a number of resonant crimes, including assassination of Ruslan Yamadaev, former deputy of the State Duma of Russia, and an attempt on the former military commandant of Chechnya General-Colonel Sergey Kizyun.

The criminal case is investigated by the Chief Investigatory Department of the ICPO. Now, investigatory and operative-search actions are underway aimed to establish the executors and other accomplices of the crime.

Under the main version of the investigation, Yamadaev was shadowed and then attacked by former vice-mayor of Grozny Gilani Shepiev, his bodyguard Halid Molochaev and ex-adviser of Chechen President Aslan Diliev.

Gilani Shepiev, also known in certain circles as "Bastion", was shot dead by an unidentified gunman at night on February 5 this year at the entrance of house 21 in the Krylatskie Kholmy Street in the west of Moscow. The gunman made three pistol shots at Shepiev and disappeared throwing away the pistol in situ.

The "Rosbalt" Agency reports that Molochaev and Diliev are now in custody. In the near future, official charges can be presented to them.

A source in the law enforcement bodies has reported that Halid Molochaev evidenced to inspectors that last year Gilani Shepiev received an order to liquidate Ruslan Yamadaev. The Hero of Russia was shadowed by three persons - Shepiev, Molochaev and Aslan Diliev. However, Molochaev has stated that in the last moment they refused to commit the murder, as did not like the customer's price. However, inspectors believe that the grouping still committed the conceived crime.
