Anti-crisis programme in labour market drafted for Rostov Region

A programme aimed to soothe tension in the labour market of the Rostov Region was developed and approved with the budget of 199 million roubles, to be allocated from the regional budget.

On January 16, Lydia Tkachenko, head of the regional population employment service, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that in total 28,000 jobless persons were registered in the databank of the Rostov Region against 20,000 vacancies; and the count of vacancies in certain trades not always coincides with the number of applicants for these jobs registered in municipalities. The programme is aimed to eliminate this contradiction.

Firstly, the funds of the programme will be spent to organize advance training of people under threat of dismissal. The same programme will stipulate organization of public works both for the unemployed, and for those on vacations.

Another direction of the programme will support the citizens who have decided to move to some other locality. So far, 400 workers will get help in resettling. This programme will pay for transportation expenses and for hiring houses for the period of three months.

The main emphasis is made on support of self-employment. It is planned to teach almost three thousand persons to how start their own business. The programme is called to make the labour market more flexible.
