The Office of Public Prosecutor of the Krasnodar Territory has delivered to the court the criminal case on accusation of a group of "OMON" (Special Militia) officers of excess of official powers with application of violence in relation to a big group of peaceful citizens, including minors, who violently beaten by militiamen in July last year when conducting a clean-up ("zachistka") in the children's rehabilitation camp "Druzhba" (Friendship), located in the settlement of Makopse.
Charges were presented to 8 militiamen, 7 of them are already in custody.
The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that on July 16, two "OMON" agents had a conflict with the campers in Sochi in the "Oasis" cafe located in the territory of the "Druzhba" children's camp in settlement Nizhneye Makopse of the Lazarevskiy District, as a result of which the fighters were beaten. Two days later, a group of "OMON" soldiers - about 50 persons in camouflage, armour vests, masks and with automatic guns - rushed into the camp, beat a security guard, and crushed down the "Oasis" cafe. A group of beaten people was brought, without explaining any reasons, to the local Interior Department ("ROVD") and tortured there.
