Khudyakov and Arakcheev's trial postponed in Rostov-on-Don till March 5
A break till March 5 has been announced in Rostov-on-Don by the North-Caucasian Regional Military Court in the case of internal troops officers Evgeniy Khudyakov and Sergey Arakcheev, accused of murdering Chechnya residents. They are accused of kidnapping and illegal detention of a person, and of assassinating three Chechnya residents.
"The break has been declared because it was necessary to give time for arrival to court of four prosecution witnesses. Besides, Irina Kuznetsova, Khudyakov's lawyer, had to leave for Moscow," Liudmila Tikhomirova, representative of the victims, has informed. At the trial, on February 13, defendant Arakcheev lodged a petition on replacing his advocate. According to the defendant, the lawyer who had represented his interests was incompetent and did not exhibit the required initiative. The defendant asked the court to appoint Alexei Dulimov to be his advocate. The court had satisfied the petition, but refused to provide 22 working days for acquaintance with the materials of the case, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
