Court completed Ulman's interrogation in Rostov-on-Don
The North-Caucasian Regional Military Court in Rostov-on-Don has finished today the interrogation of Captain Eduard Ulman, officer of the military reconnaissance, who is accused of murdering peaceful residents in Chechnya in January 2002. The state prosecution asked several clarifying questions to the defendant, related to contradictions in the evidences presented at the preliminary investigation, and in the court.
Then, the court started to interrogate witness Dmitri Shevelev, who was the chief of staff of the military unit, where Ulman took his service in Chechnya in January 2002.
In particular, Mr. Shevelev has stated that a task had been placed before him to prepare "a group comprising an officer and a radio operator for holding operative communication with 'spetsnaz' groups" for participation in a special operation, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
