Chechnya Prosecution Office investigates tortures in ORB-2

President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov announced at his meeting with journalists on Friday that the Public Prosecutor's Office was launching a criminal case on the facts of mockery and tortures at the Operations and Search Bureau (the so-called "ORB-2") of the city of Urus-Martan, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The press service of the chairman of Chechen government has reported that the facts of cruel treatment of a resident of the village of Goiskoye by the members of the ORB-2, which is subordinate to the Chief Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Chechnya, became known on Monday March 12.

According to the conclusion of physicians of the Central Republic's Hospital located in Urus-Martan, after Ramzan Khasiev, 30, had spent over 11 hours at the ORB-2, he was diagnosed brain concussion, multiple bruises and traumas of the spinal column and upper and lower extremities.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already reported that during several recent years, human rights defenders have fixed a great number of evidences of using tortures by ORB-2 employees.
