Kondopoga pogrom instigators sentenced to 8 months and 3.5 years of custody
On Tuesday, the Kondopoga City Court announced its verdict on the case of beating the workers of the "Chaika" restaurant, after which pogroms had burst out in the city against the natives from the Caucasus.
Under the Court verdict, residents of Kondopoga Sergey Mozgalyov and Yuri Pliev have been found guilty of committing crimes. Thus, Mozgalyov's actions were qualified under Part 2, Article 213, and Part 2, Article 116, of the Criminal Code (CC) (hooliganism and bodily blows), and Pliev's ones - under Part 2, Article 213, of the CC (hooliganism), the "Interfax" reports.
Mozgalyov was sentenced to three and a half years of deprivation of freedom at a strict custody colony, Pliev - to eight months at the same colony type. The imprisonment terms are counted from the moment of their arrest - for Mozgalyov, from September 6, 2006, for Pliev, from November 1, 2006, accordingly.
