Azerbaijanis are repressed again in Iran

It has become known to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that in connection with the annual ascent to Fortress Bazz, located in South Azerbaijan (region in northwest of Iran), the police detained most of the participants of the march. Repressions against Azerbaijanis are held also in other regions of Iran.

Besides, since July 1 the authorities of Iran have interrupted the telephone and Internet communication with South Azerbaijan. This was reported at the Baku Office of the Movement for National Awakening of South Azerbaijan (MNASA).

We remind you that in 815-837 Fortress Bazz was the citadel of Babek, national hero of Azerbaijan, who headed the struggle against Arabian conquerors. Annual ascents to Fortress Bazz are held since 1999 under the initiative of well-known Iranian historian Mohammed Tagi Zekhtabi.
