Parents of perished militants address the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria

It has become known to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the parents of the perished militants - Elena Karmova, Raissa Keresheva and Larissa Alakaeva - filed a complaint to Yuri Mairov, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria, Vladimir Vybornov, Chairman of the Nalchik City Court, sending copies to the President of the Republic and mass media.

Larissa Dorogova, a lawyer of the Kabardino-Balkarian Bar, who is representing the interests of the relatives, said making her comments on the situation:

"We have lodged individual complaints on behalf of the victims' relatives against refusal to give out the bodies; against non-admission of victims' representatives into the criminal case; against non-issuance of procedural documents and examination conclusions, etc.; and against the decision of the investigatory group to stop the criminal prosecution because of death on non-rehabilitating grounds. We ran dozens of cases in courts. Each complaint was considered for two or three times as all decisions were cancelled by higher judicial instances.

After Decision of the Constitutional Court we had a hope that the Supreme Court would no more cancel the ruling of the first instance court, but, alas, our hopes never came true."

According to Ms Dorogova, some of the parents would not agree with the qualification of "terrorism" in relation to their lost sons and are trying to have this accusation lifted posthumously.
