Supreme Court of Azerbaijan upholds verdict to journalist Einullah Fatullaev

Today, the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan has considered the cassation complaint lodged by advocates of journalist Einullah Fatullaev. The Supreme Court has passed a decision to uphold the verdict of the Appeal Court.

Uzeir Dzhafarov, who is representing Mr Fatullaev's interests, has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the defence was not notified about the court session. The same also took place during the consideration of the case at the Appeal Court and at the first session in the Supreme Court. In his opinion, all this speaks in favour of the court's prejudgement.

Advocate Isakhan Ashurov has also stated that the advocates were not informed about today's session of the Supreme Court and are going to appeal against decisions of Azerbaijani courts to the European Court for Human Rights.
