Mikhail Trepashkin complains to UN Secretary General of violation of his rights

Ex-Colonel of the FSB (Federal Security Bureau) Mikhail Trepashkin has sent an application to Mr Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the United Nations, with a request to demand from the Russian law enforcement bodies to release him and revise his criminal case.

The Trepashkin's application to Ban Ki-moon, which was widespread today, runs that Mr Trepashkin was refused of his right to have his case revised, which is guaranteed by Article 14 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and Article 2 of Protocol 7 to the European Convention on Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, the "Interfax" reports.

"On April 19, 2007, a regular session of the PACE passed a resolution with the demand to Russia about my immediate release, however, the RF authorities do not hurry to enforce it," the application runs.
